After chasing winters around the world this is our dream: a tricked out house in the big mountain powder capital of the world.
In 2015 we pulled up stumps in Hakuba and starting bring to life the dream that was The Phat House. Pre-covid we operated a full-service lodge, but since 2020 we now operate as a self-contained mansion for medium to large groups. It’s been a wonderful ride over the years welcoming guests from all over the world and its been rewarding sharing our little patch of paradise with those coming to the area. We’ve put our heart and soul into ‘our baby’ and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

If you’re wanting a hassle free holiday in Hakuba The Phat House is the place for you. With 11 guest bedrooms we can sleep 26 comfortably. If you needed we can extend the capacity to 30 persons with the addition of beds to the ping pong room. Aside from beds the house is loaded with features: hot tub, cinema room, games/yoga room, huge lounge/dining, commercial kitchen, outdoor entertaining area, drying room and more. On top of that the house comes with the complimentary usage of 4 8-seater vans.

Hakuba is truely a all-season destination with world-class skiing and snowboarding, lift accessed mountain bike trails, amazing hiking trails, forests, lakes, onsens, restaurants and more. The natural beauty will draw you here and the culture will live long in the memory.

There are 10 Resorts in the Hakuba Valley and the snow conditions are a powder lovers dream. There is a mixture of terrain suitable for all levels of skier or rider. For those looking for more of adventure Hakuba’s world renowned backcountry terrain is vast and endless. Welcome to paradise.

MOUNTAIN BIKE
Hakuba is home to one of only a handful of accessed MTB parks in all of Japan. Iwatake MTB park (just up the road from The Phatty) has a number of different course and is suitable for all levels of biker. With long flow trails and some expert level jumps, they really have something for everyone.
HIKE
HIKING
Hakuba is renowned for its hiking and hikers across the country decent on Hakuba in off-season to take in the breathtaking views. With many options and great facilities, hiking in the Hakuba Valley is some of the best hiking in all of Japan.
